Fresh food market

The latest addition to Sydney's market scene is a coup for city-dwellers (and your fruit bowl), with Hawkesbury Harvest Farmers and Fine Food Markets setting up shop every Friday right in the CBD.
From Friday 22 August, Cook & Phillip Park on Sydney's eastern fringe will become the source of your weekly grocery shop, selling fine wine and cheese, fresh fruit and vegetables and a smorgasbord of local products to keep the fridge full.
"Hawkesbury Harvest is a community-based organisation which began as a small group of farmers passionate about the Hawkesbury region and its agricultural heritage," says Hawkesbury Harvest secretary Alan Eagle.
"We're really excited about giving farmers from across the Sydney basin the opportunity to promote and sell their fresh, seasonal produce in the heart of the city."
The band Waiting for Guinness will launch the market, injecting some theatrics into the experience.
Hawkesbury Harvest Farmers and Fine Food Markets Every Fri 10am-2.30pm at Cook & Phillip Park.
