Manly International Jazz Festival
Manly shows its jazz hands
By Sarah Norris

It's Australia's largest and longest-running festival of its kind and will free-form its way onto the streets of Manly for three huge days of cool, cool jazz. Six stages will serve up everything from swing, big band, contemporary, vocal and instrumental to those random music genres that love to attach themselves to festivals: funk, blues, zydeco and Latin.
The Manly International Jazz Festival is now in its 30th year and will give us everyone from Jeff Duff to Wycliffe Gordon. On Sunday, the Star of the Sea Theatre will host a tribute to Charlie Parker, with Sydney Symphony musicians joined by Manly-born Andrew Speight and his ARIA award-winning quintet.
The Manly International Jazz Festival is on Sat 4 Oct-Mon 6 Oct 12 noon-5pm.
