5 New York minutes in Sydney...

Where can you get a slice of New York attitude, style or atmosphere in Sydney? Here's Time Out's picks

1 New York Slice

Shop 12, 2 Bayswater Rd, Kings Cross 2011
After a long night of partying, wind it up like the Big Apple party animals by enjoying a slice of pizza the size of your face. A huge variety of toppings will satisfy any set of tastebuds, and the techno will keep you pumping.

2 The Apple Store

367 George St, Sydney 2000
No techno-geek visit to NYC would be complete without a visit to the Apple Store on Fifth Avenue, it's subterranean existence heralded by a large glass cube. There, all the latest and greatest gadgets are available for purchase, or simply drooling over. Thankfully, the Sydney Apple Store opened just last week, meaning you don't need to buy a flight to get your hands on the latest iPhone.

3 Hudson Meats

410 Crown St, Surry Hills 2010
Let your taste buds celebrate the city that never sleeps by cooking up and devouring a delicious New York strip steak. Cut from a rarely-used muscle in the loin of a cow, this particular style of steak is known for its tenderness and generous portions. Hudson's Meats on Crown has some great advice on how to get the best flavour out of them.

4 The Incredible Hulk

At a "movie theater" near you
New York has been awash with superheroes for as long as humans have had imagination. This new offering from the recently formed Marvel Films sees the most conflicted giant in the world, The Incredible Hulk, fighting his way through the Big Apple in a rage-filled green blur. A must for fans of the city and the comics alike.

5 Being a rude pedestrian

Anywhere
NYC is a blur of humanity, a city where people have places to go and money to spend and no time in which to do it. The New York pedestrian has become an icon - the head down, elbows out hustle that results in an explosion of spittle and expletives if you get in their way. If you want to feel like a real New Yorker, go for a wander, bump into people and then scream at them at the top of your lungs. Be sure to practise yelling "I'm walkin' here!" before you head out.
