The Murder of Crows

What? Debuting at Biennale is the largest installation to date by Canadian artists Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller, their The Murder of Crows, a weird, wonderful and rich sound sculpture - a cacophony of voices, music and sound effects triggered and influenced by movement.

Where? Pier 2/3, Hickson Rd, Walsh Bay Sydney 2000. Daily 10am-5pm. Free.

Island hopping

What? Take advantage of free ferry rides during the Biennale and glide across to one of Sydney's most impressive islands. Explore Cockatoo Island's history, but open your eyes to the crazy minds of the world's best contemporary artists. South African artist William Kentridge premieres, new work I am not me, the horse is not mine, and presents a lecture that interacts with his piece.

Where? Building 123-124, Cockatoo Island Sydney 2000. I am Not Me... on Wed 18 Jun 2pm-3pm. Free. Bookings essential.

Good for the family

What? The Biennale program is jam packed with kid-friendly events called Revolting Kids! Jump headlong into a treasure hunt, become a pirate for a day and other random activities designed to turn their world upside down. Explore the island - from the first Australians and early European settlement through to the days when it was the largest ship-building site in the Pacific.

Where? To get to Cockatoo Island catch the ferry from Pier 2/3 or the Commissioner's Steps outside the Museum of Contemporary Art. Sat 12 Jul 10am-1pm & Sat 9 Aug 10am-1pm. Free

Mystery Tours

What? Sign up for a Magical Mystery Tour around Cockatoo Island - one of the Biennale hubs - and you will get a personal tour by a ‘mystery' figure (think artist, art critic, writer and celebrity identities) who will guide you past their specially selected works.

Where? Cockatoo Island, every Sat 5 Jul-6 Sept. 11.30pm-12.30pm.

Bring on the anger

What? Get your rage on with Stuart Ringholt's free anger workshops running through the Festival. Take your boss... or your ex.

Where? Art Gallery of NSW, Art Gallery Rd, The Domain. 12pm & 3pm.

MCA

What? Artist Ana Prvacki serves up a Musical Derived Pain Killer, a process of collecting saliva through the practising of her flute and through a simple alchemical process turning it into a musical pain killer. Prvacki is tipped as an up-and-coming artist. Her flute has a big future in bio-chemical germ warfare.

Where? MCA 140 George St, The Rocks Sydney 2000. Fri 20 Jun 3pm-5pm. Free

Good for those with rhythm

What? For those who like to shake their booty, Live @ MCA brings together hip hop and Krump dancers and DJs to relate movement to the themes of the Biennale, Revolutions - Forms That Turn.

Where? MCA, 140 George St, The Rocks Sydney 2000. Sun 20 Jul 2pm-4pm. Free.
