Best Longneck Beers

Whether you're drinking out of a paper bag or a pony (tiny 175ml glasses) there's just something damn cool about a longneck

By Sarah Norris

Flying Squirrel Tapas Parlour
Take a seat at the tiny Bondi Road tapas-style bar and throw back a soothing Coopers Pale Ale longneck for, ahem, 12 bucks a pop. A tad steep, true, but stellar neck nectar with such great tucker.
249 Bondi Rd, Bondi, 2026. (02 9130 1033).

Longrain
There are two longie options at this converted warehouse bar (and restaurant): Coopers Pale ($10) and the delicious and very debonair 565ml pint-sized Little Creatures Pale Ale from West Australia.
85 Commonwealth St, Surry Hills 2010. (02 9280 2888).

Oxford Arts Factory
Whether you're there for the DJs, the art or the scene, the Arts Factory is keeping it real, serving up $9 VB or Tooheys New "king browns".
38-46 Oxford St, Darlinghurst 2010.

$10 and under!
You can't go past two of the best drink deals in town. The Beach Road Hotel throws on a $10 meal (pizza, fish and chips or bangers and mash) and longneck of Coopers Green combo every Thursday night. Across town, Spectrum and Q Bar sell $5 longies of Carlton every Thursday and Friday before 12am.

Beach Road Hotel, 71 Beach Rd, Bondi 2026. (02 9130 7247);
Exchange Hotel, 34 Oxford St, Darlinghurst 2010.
