Quirky on Oxford Street

Oxford Street offers everything you might want if you are looking for a less conventional night out. Don't miss these hot spots.

Quirky on Oxford Street

 The Main Event  Slide
While the lure of a number of Oxford Street's trashy haunts may beckon and distract you from a great Saturday night out, Slide's up-market setting and ‘nob-free' door policy make it the place to be for those in the know. Once the austere Commonwealth Bank building, Slide's stunning art deco interior and signature glass ceiling sets it apart from its ugly stepsisters on the strip. Every Saturday after 9pm, Slide transforms from lounge bar to hip club under the deck-spinning guidance of DJs Luke Leal and Rob Davis. Just $10 at the door will have you busting mod moves to fab grooves on the retro Saturday Night Fever-inspired dance floor until the wee hours.

Eat  Don Don The perfect mid-clubbing super snack - a simple, all-in-one meal in a bowl. We go for the beef or soba noodles.

Drink  Rambutan Head in for a kitschy drink (they love a flaming cocktail here) or a rum-based Old Fashioned and kick your night on with a boozy bang.

 While you're there...  The Colombian
The night is young (and presumably so are you), so mix it up with fellow fresh peeps at the Colombian's cool downstairs bar. Grab a window seat and watch over-excited suburban girls with fake IDs and hankies for skirts sashay by, peaking waaay too early. Tragic yet funny.

Toolshed Go adult novelty shopping for a 17-inch rubber fist or a blow-up sheep.
