Female Agents

Hot French girls with guns. What's not to love?

Female Agents

This candid French flick harks back to the ‘mission gone bad' days of war film. Featuring some superb central performances from a host of French actors, director Jean-Paul Salome tackles the triumphs and tribulations that faced female resistance fighters in World War II as they fought furiously behind enemy lines.

Female Agents, or Les Femmes De L'ombre to natives, explores feminism before it had a name, when women stood in the shadows of male soldiers while playing equal roles in a horrific and violent war. Set in the spring of 1944 on the cusp of the Normandy Landings, it's a cold, hard look at the female realities of war through the eyes of a woman. Salome will conduct a Q&A after the premiere, exploring the complexities of the genre and the challenges of recreating historical film.
