Sydney's Outdoor Cinemas

Tropfest
Sydney's Domain plays host to this iconic film festival in February.

Moonlight Cinema
It's a well-loved Sydney tradition: pack a picnic, head to Centennial Park, hire a beanbag, ward off mosquitoes, watch a film. This year, Moonlight delivers their usual line up of cinema's latest and greatest including Sherlock Holmes, Slumdog Millionaire and the all-time romantic classic Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Bondi Openair Cinema
The fresh sea breeze makes watching a film feel just healthy enough. This year, the Bondi Openair affair will be one with a fully licensed bar and bands performing before each film. Look out for a location-appropriate series of surf films sprinkled throughout the programme.

St George Open Air
This open-air cinema offers views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, but they're kind of hoping your eyes will be glued to the three-story-high screen, which will feature a mix of recent box office hits and well-loved cult classics.

ME Bank Starlight Cinema
It's nice to vary from the inner city, so head north for this year's 10-week-long Starlight Cinema, featuring a strong line up of recent release Australian and International Films.

Peroni Film Nights
When a film night is sponsored by a beer company, it spells a good time for all. Use the first evening of your new week to take in classic comedies and action flicks in the courtyard at the Beresford. The kitchen will provide pasta with a glass of wine or a bottle of peroni for $15. Every Monday.

Ash St Cellar Monday Movie Night
Ash St cellar won the award for Best Bar Food in the 2010 Time Out Sydney Bar Awards. So you'll be pleased to hear that for $35 you can get a great meal, a glass of wine and an open-air movie. Each month, films are chosen according to a theme and the January line-up at Ash Street Cellar is all about Australia. Every Monday.
