Consider your ring punched
Left hooks, right jabs and upper cuts have gay men fighting fit

The latest group of gents to graduate for
Sydney's only all gay boxing group can officially punch you in the ring (if
you ask nicely).
The Punch Him in the Ring boxing group has
just wound up another eight weeks of intense boxing technique, training and fitness
with seven participants leaving the group well schooled in puting up their
dukes.
The classes focus on various punches,
blocks, footwork and fitness techniques that come together to make a good
fighter. "Unlike boxercise classes at gyms, our classes take the time in
teaching participants technique and skills, rather than just a cardio workout,"
says Andrew Georgiou, co-ordinator of Punch Him in the Ring (and Time Out's Gay & Lesbian editor).
Under the guidance of instructor Stacy
Batchelor, this season's graduating class consisted of a mix of gay men from all
walks of life, including a doctor whose skills were handy to have on call but
fortunately not needed.
Punch Him in the Ring is calling out for
new participants their upcoming classes and can be contacted by email at punchinthering@gmail.com or on 0405
491 523.
