Perfect Pita Pizza for kids!

Set your kids to work in the kitchen with these easy-peasy Pita Pizzas. Jessica Frawley finds a recipe fit to feed for four hungry mouths

Basic Ingredients

• 4 large pita bread rounds
• 200g grated tasty cheese
• 150g torn fresh mozzarella
• 4 fresh tomatoes (diced)
• 1 jar tomato puree
• Fresh or dried Italian herbs
• Drizzle of olive oil

Method

Preheat the oven 160°C  and delegate the pitas out to your little sous chefs. Help them to aim the tomato paste, fresh tomato, cheese and herbs towards each pita (as opposed to the wall). If your kitchen is still intact then hand over creative control and let your little ones choose their favourite toppings. With infinite possibility there'll be something for even the fussiest eater. Keep a reign on their creations by providing fresh and healthy toppings Whack it in the oven for 20mins or until the topping goes brown and crispy. Eat up!

Topping ideas

1 Vegielicious Capsicum, eggplant, zucchini and roasted pumpkin.
2 Winter Warmer Pepperoni, capsicum, olives and sweet chilli sauce.
3 Finding Nemo Prawns, tinned tuna, capers and rocket.
4 Sydney Brekkie Egg, bacon and mushrooms... served with sauce naturally.
5 Time Out Kids Special Chorizo, black olives & lashings of extra cheese... for spicy smallies!
