Golden Slipper Festival
History Since it was first run in 1957, the AAMI Golden Slipper has been Sydney Turf Club’s showpiece event. It is the world’s richest race for two-year-old thoroughbreds and its impact on thoroughbred racing and breeding industries is second to none. It’s also a nice little earner, with the winner pocketing $3.5 million. “The Golden Slipper epitomises Australian racing – it’s all about youth and speed,” says Sydney trainer Gai Waterhouse.

What’s on? The racing is headlined by the $500,000 Group 1 Dubai Rosehill Guineas which is one of three major races for three year olds in autumn. Other important events include the Group 2 Darley Stakes and Parramatta Leagues Club Magic Night Stakes which serve as the final lead up events for the AAMI Golden Slipper. AAMI Golden Slipper Day The $3.5 Million AAMI Golden Slipper, the world’s richest race for two year olds, is the headline act. There’s also the $2.25million BMW race, and three other Group 1 events. There will be live entertainment on the terraced lawns with special pre-slipper performance, as well as Myer fashion parades and the National Young Designer Award finals.

Emirates Doncaster Day
History The $1.8 million Emirates Doncaster mile dates back to 1866 and has been won by many renowned horses. The $1.8 million dollar David Jones Australian Derby is known as one of the top ranked event for three-year-olds by Australian and New Zealand race classifications.

What’s on? Don your traditional black and white attire and have your race books ready for this event, which brings the crème of racing royalty together for over $5 million in prize money. There’s also a Pamper Palace for those who want some extra TLC, with free hair and make-up.
Lawn Party Get set for a brilliant day of entertainment – making sure you don’t miss the Potbelleez, British India, Van She and more as they take centre stage at this year’s Lawn Party.
