Best Thai
From pad Thai to ka nom jeen nam ya, Time Out brings you the best Thai Sydney has to offer

1 Spice I Am Surry Hills
You may find all the usual suspects on the menu here, but they're all done extremely well. Our favourite dish is the ka nom jeen nam ya - fermented rice noodles with fish curry sauce and pickles. It tastes better than it sounds.
2 Longrain Surry Hills
Longrain is celebrating its tenth birthday this year and it's no wonder they've done so well for so
long - the combination of killer cocktails and flavour-packed Thai dishes is a winner.
3 Sailor's Thai The Rocks
This restaurant was one of the first to offer really authentic Thai food in an upmarket setting. Upstairs is a little more casual while the downstairs restaurant is a little more fancy.
4 Chat Thai Sydney
There are several Chat Thai locations around town but the best are in the city. The stall in the Galeries Victoria does a beef dish that's so hot everything that touches your mouth is agony for at least an hour afterwards.
5 Crocodile Senior Sydney
A shining star in the George Street throng, it's all about the som tum, the laab, and string (no, that's not a dish, it's Thai pop music). All your faves are here as well as some more interesting dishes. But you'll need to be able to read Thai to know what they are or be brave if you can't.
