Sydney's Top 10 Pizzas

We are counting down the best Pizzas in Sydney...

Number 10 - Dimitri's

Best for Old school, lo-fi, high-impact pizzeria plying Crown Street with sensational straight-up pizzas for over a decade. A fave of musos recording at bigjesusburger studios on Riley Street (Wolfmother, You Am I).

What to order Dimitris Special - balances shaved meats and sliced veg with plenty o' mozz and no pineapple. Go half-n-half with a Mexicana (salami, jalapenos and chilli) for a double-shot of no frills thrills.

Atmosphere Rocking, mellow. Comfy couches, tables for knees-together couples, counter for lone wolves and a boho back alley.

Extras The pastas are just as good.

Get a table Or don't. The Gaslight will let you bring Dimitris pizzas in.

Surry Hills

Number 9 - Pizza e Birra

Best for Watch from the door as pizzas are made in the traditional
Neapolitan style and put straight into the huge wood-fired oven.

What to order Go for a pizza bianchi (no tomato sauce) like the Pizza Salmone - smoked salmon, asparagus, cherry tomato and goat's cheese.

Atmosphere All minimal toppings and chic style. Lively, low-lit and authentic, but not cheap.

Extras The titular birra is a pale ale made by Hopping Mad brewery in Orange, but the superb wine by the glass is a better bet.

Get a table No bookings but they own Mille Vini just up the road, a great place to wait. Put your name down and they'll call you.
