Sport in the Entertainment Quarter

Sport, shopping, Bavarian bier. What more could you want in a great night out?

Sport in the Entertainment Quarter

The Main Event  A Sydney FC Match
One of the advantages Sydney has over practically every other global city is that much of its major sports stadia is slap-bang in the centre, meaning you can watch a match and not have to sacrifice an entire night. The Sydney Cricket Ground and Sydney Football Stadium are but a Gilchrist tonk apart. Just as the Swans are finishing their AFL season at the SCG, so Sydney FC kick off their A League campaign next door. And boy, does it start with a bang this Saturday night, with the grandmother of all grudge matches against the presumptuously named Melbourne Victory (see p31 for a preview). A Sydney FC season ticket is just $149. Which leaves plenty of spare change to make a night of it.

Drink  Bavarian Bier Cafe Sure, the giant schnitzels and pretzels are hard to pass up, but so is the huge selection of Bavarian bier in steins. Prost!
