You probably wouldn't cotton onto this micro-brewery/bar being here unless you were a) a Manly local or b) looking for it. It's upstairs from the Manly Cinemas. Now you know. It's also packed to the hilt with thirsty locals. You've got a choice between their pale ale, kolsch and (our favourite) heferweizen. At 4 Pines, there's a beer for every season (check the specials board for the latest creation) and something different on every night of the week. How many bars do you know that have a wandering magician in their employ? Whether this makes you happy or sad, it's still kinda rad. Thursday is giant steak and magician day; there's live music on Tuesday and Wednesday; and Monday is movie day. The cinema and bar have a deal where for $27.50 you get a main meal in the 4 Pines restaurant and a movie ticket. Sweet! Also, if you're interested, you can view the brewing process - the giant glass tank in the entrance holds the whole kit and caboodle, complete with diagrams. Although 4 Pines are all about the beer, there's also a fair selection of wine on offer, roaming the world from Chianti to the Margaret River and everywhere in between and with nothing over $58 on the list. They also deal in spirits. Choose your poison (they've got a fair selection) and they'll serve it with an individual mixer of your choice - very civilised indeed.
