The Old Fitzroy Hotel

There’s plenty of the good stuff on tap (13 beers, although local brewer Sharers has been mysteriously erased) and the front bar is a great place to spend a Saturday arvo. Heading here in the colder months? Grab a whisky chaser – they’ll have the fire going and a supply of marshmallows for you to roast. In summer, bags the outdoor seating for cold beers and lazy arvos. If the upstairs bar’s open, stake a claim on the dinky balcony – the pub’s prime real estate – or grab an outside table on a sunny weekend to sink some suds with thirsty friends.

The bistro serves a selection of Asian food including laksa and Singapore noodles.

Old Fitzroy Theatre is next door and accessed through the hotel.
