Reputedly named for a painting of "two kilted friends", this shoebox cafe is where Manly's Safety Wolf - winner of Time Out's Best Small Bar in 2009 - was born. Four types of toasties have held court here since inception but it's Nigel Park's primo coffee they come for. He cranks out 700 shots of black magic a day and when the sun hits those dark timbers it's happy days.
