Opera Bar

A beer garden that spills into the harbour, a view overlooking the Opera House and the Bridge? Hell yes. Sitting at Opera Bar, drinkin’ and thinkin’ while watching the sparkling lights of the city as the ferries choof in and out, is nirvana. Got out-of-towners in tow? This is your place to impress. The room-length bar is well- stocked with spirits, but the bartenders are so la stupenda crazy pouring sav blanc and beers, the attention to the cocktails wavers. That said, they’re filled to the gills with good gin (Hendricks, Tanqueray and Plymouth to name just a few) and some impressive rum. More kudos for their commissioning of legendary Sydney brewers Redoak to create a bespoke organic beer, OB Pale. For our money, you’ll find us with a Redback (one of the few places in Sydney with this brew of champions on tap) in hand and a bowl of chips in the other. Regular outdoor jazz acts sweeten the deal.
